Val d’Orcia

Declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO, the Val d’Orcia is an area of enormous interest to visitors, in terms of its culture, history and natural beauty.

The valley winds between Siena and Grosseto, and is crossed by the River Orcia (from which it takes its name). It is characterized by its amazing landscapes, which change in color according to season, and also by some splendid cities of art.

The fortress at Castiglion d’Orcia, the spa baths at Bagno Vignoni and Chianciano, and the ancient Benedictine Abbey of S. Salvatore are just some of the attractions of this unspoilt area, which has few rivals in the world in terms of natural splendor and wealth of interest.
